Ballet

A dance form combining elements of the English and French traditions of ballet. This discipline places an emphasis on the mastery of correct and safe technique, the vocabulary of dance, physical placement, spatial relationships, dramatic presence and artistic expression. As a form it requires the ability to make movement look effortless and graceful and the flexibility, strength, endurance, muscle memory, discipline, and attention to detail necessary to express emotion and feeling.
Modern

A popular dance form that makes extensive use of contemporary music. This discipline places an emphasis on the mastery of self-expression, energetic movement and response to rhythm and occasion. As a form it is athletic and physically demanding and requires high levels of co-ordination, concentration and stamina.
Tap

A strongly rhythmical dance form that draws on music from many traditions. This discipline places an emphasis on the mastery of using the feet as a percussive instrument, on the response to rhythm, and on interpretation and expression. As a form it requires an understanding of beat, time signatures and musical expression as well as high levels of co-ordination, concentration and stamina.
Commercial

Commercial dance emerged in the 1950s as a way for dancers to push against the strict constraints of traditional styles such as ballet and be free to experiment. Dancing to modern music, commercial dance incorporates moves from all genres.
Contemporary

Contemporary Dance is complex, rich and ever expanding. It encompasses a wide range of styles, techniques and movement philosophies. With an innate ability and interest in embracing different body shapes, different cultural influences and new styles and ideas as they appear, Contemporary Dance is extremely exciting, has broad appeal and readily stimulates creativity.
Lyrical

A popular dance form that makes extensive use of contemporary music. This discipline places an emphasis on the mastery of self-expression, gracefulness and the use of movement to convey a sense of romance and style, in response to rhythm and lyrics. As a form it requires dancers to understand and interpret both lyrics and melody with increasing emotional maturity, physical flexibility and co-ordination.
Pointe

Starting Pointe Class is a very exciting time for any aspiring ballerina. The lessons are by invitation and the following factors are taken in to consideration:

It is an extension of our ballet classes where you will be awarded your Pointe shoes and work towards strengthening and technique.
Musical Theatre

Musical theatre combines music, song, spoken word, acting and dance/movement to tell a story. Encourage candidates to explore a range of different characters from musicals/films and look at the emotional content. Our programme of study encourages candidates to gain confidence and skills in order to become a “triple threat” at the same time as learning and having fun.
Street

Street dance is an umbrella term for dance styles that have their origin on the streets. Street is extremely popular here at TDH. They are often improvisational and social in nature, encouraging interaction and contact with spectators and the other dancers. With sharp, technical and fast movements you'll certainly impress those on the dance floor.
Acro

"A physically demanding dance form derived from acrobatic traditions of entertainment. This discipline places an emphasis on athleticism, agility, strength, control and balance, in order to ensure graceful and apparently effortless movement and sculptural representation. As a form it uses transitions in body shape to express feelings and emotions by exercising control over space and movement."
Singing Lessons

In our singing lessons here at TDH, you will work in stages. Each stage includes technical warm ups to strengthen the voice. You create a rep of songs where you will focus on a variety of genres. Our singing lessons are taught on a private one to one meaning you will receive instant feedback and techniques to help improve. Each student receives a report at the end of each term.
Adult Classes

Our adult classes are super popular and are not just a fantastic way to learn a new skill, it also a great time to let your hair down and create new friendship groups and have some you time! We have adult jazz, adult musical theatre and adult tap. Our adults are wonderfully friendly and we welcome all ages and abilities.
Jazz

Jazz dance is a form of dance that combines both African and European dance styles. This high-energy dance has a liveliness that sets it apart from traditional dance forms, such as classical ballet. Like jazz music, jazz dance features improvisation.
Competition Team

We have recently launched our competition team, focusing on a variety on genres and taking them to local competitions in the area where the team will compete against other dance school in different categories and age brackets. This is a fantastic way to let their artistic side flair and build their confidence.
Baby & Toddler Classes

We offer a variety of Baby and Toddler classes at TDH. From Ballet, to Mini Movers and Tiny Tumblers which involves a variety of styles. Whilst taking a big focus on building up your children's confidence and allow them to start to learn the basics in the class to start off their journey at TDH on the right foot.
The Drama Hub

The Drama Hub is our new acting class. You will unleash your creativity! Our exciting program covers a variety of skills, including acting for stage, film, and TV, audition preparation, confidence building, stage makeup, set design, and acting through song. Plus, you'll work towards performing a full-length play!
